Collaboration is key. ruby slipper believes successful endeavors occur through listening, communicating, and planning. During the project, you are consulted at each junction in order to gain your approval.
To begin, ruby slipper offers a free initial consultation in order to evaluate the parameters of your project. Afterwards, a proposal is created which includes scope as well as an estimated cost range.
The following illustrates how a project unfolds:
1. Introduction & Proposal
We discuss scope, goals, budget, time line, and workflow. Equally as important, we profile your audience and look at sites you like. We talk about copy, tech issues, maintenance, marketing, social networking. After our initial meeting, a proposal is presented.
2. Strategy & Site Architecture
We pinpoint our strategy and create a "blueprint" which outlines each page in the site.
3. Content Development
Working together, we craft appropriate copy in the voice most suitable for your audience. Clients usually supply us with pre-written content, however we are happy to provide recommendations for copy writers.
4. Design Presentation
We build your project extranet where you may log in to preview your designs, and then present three different design options for the home pages. Choose your favorite and we refine until it's approved. Based on the chosen look, we create a sub-page design which will be templated throughout the site.
5. Production, Coding, Launch
We build the site based on your chosen design. Once complete, we optimize with keywords, test to make sure the code is clean via w3.org validation, test on multiple web browsers, and add Google analytics. Once finalized, we launch!
6. Marketing & Maintenance
Directing traffic to your site is a multi-tiered effort. In addition to search engine optimization, we also recommend enewsletter campaigns and a Facebook page as great ways to keep in touch with your client base. Send announcements to friends, colleagues, and clients to get the word out. Run ads, print your site address on business cards, fliers, and so forth to ensure that your site is handy for visitors.
As websites are evolving entities, you are welcome to enlist ruby slipper for site updates — we address small updates within a week, larger ones are scheduled. If you wish to helm your updates, we may suggest that you use software such as Contribute, or create a site using Wordpress.org, or develop a custom solution.
