Biodiversity Arts
Southern Oregon artist Deb Van Poolen wanted a website to promote her art classes, showcase her natural landscape and wildlife art for sale, and house her political articles. Ruby Slipper embraced the project!

CHALLENGE
Artist Deb Van Poolen teaches drawing and painting, offers art and ecology classes at her Greensprings studio, sells posters and prints online, at the Lithia Artisans Market, and the Ashland Art Center. She’s also known for her political insights from her experience as a courtroom artist and world traveler.
Our challenge: getting super clear on Deb’s focus areas and how to visually portray her site.
APPROACH
To gain inspiration and clarity, we explored all sorts of artist websites, During the design phase, the pendulum swung from white/austere to the lush, full-bodied design presented now. Deb’s artistic eye was invaluable as we crafted a look-and-feel that best represented her work.
RESULTS
Her new site, Biodiversity Arts, showcases all that she offers in a big, bold way. Check out her incredible Butterfly Diversity in the Cascade-Siskiyous poster, her beautiful original paintings and prints, and her unique art classes. Then sign up for her newsletter for a chance to win a butterfly poster.
Ruby Slipper is grateful to once again collaborate with the talents of Debra Thornton Photography for the custom photos of Deb teaching her art students.
